Yukiko Ishibashi

Biography

Yukiko Ishibashi was born in Osaka, Japan where she studied with Prof. Koichiro Harada in Tokyo. After moving to Europe, she studied with Prof. Zakhar Bron in Lübeck, Germany and Prof. György Pauk in Zurich, Switzerland, where she graduated with the soloists degree. She won first prizes in several competitions (Hug-Duttweiler Wettbewerb 2000, 11. Mozart Competition Japan 2003). Since 2002 Yukiko Ishibashi is a member of the Tonhalle-Orchestra Zurich, Switzerland. With the steady ensemble Trio Oreade and with other internationally active musicians, Yukiko Ishibashi has developed a successful chamber music career. The Trio Oreade won the Munich Competition for string trios in 2012 and recorded various CDs. Since 2017 Yukiko Ishibashi plays the Violin "King George" 1710 by A. Stradivarius by courtesy of the Stradivari foundation Habisreutinger.
